LANDSCAPE DISTRICT DIVISION

DEPARTMENT PROFILE

The City of Calabasas maintains a special assessment district called the LMD or Landscape Maintenance District. which provide enhanced “special benefit” services to the four separate districts.

A Landscape Maintenance District is a special assessment district established to fund and maintain landscaping and appurtenances for slopes and common areas.  There are currently four LMD’s within the City of Calabasas.   These funds are used for the maintenance of the landscaping, which includes mowing, weeding, trimming, fertilizing the plant material and utility costs, such as water and electricity.  They may also be used for the enhancement of the existing landscaping and the installation or maintenance of select hardscape features, such as stamped concrete medians, concrete paseos, fencing, slumpstone borders, irrigation controllers and decorative lighting.

For more information regarding the Landscape District, contact Steve Ball at 818-224-1600.
